About Zinfandel

Zinfandel is a type of red wine grape primarily grown in Southern Italy and California's Paso Robles and the Russian River Valley (Sonoma). Zinfandel wines are known for high alcohol, velvet tannins, and spicy flavor profile. Zinfandel is a juicy, fruit-forward wine, with notes of cola, black cherry, blackberry, and raspberry. Some Zinfandel wines also have hints of black pepper, clove, and vanilla. Zinfandel is typically medium to full-bodied and has medium to high tannins. Zinfandel wines pair well with a wide range of grilled meats, spicy Mexican, Chinese, Thai, and Indian foods, and Texas BBQ. Zinfandel is best enjoyed at room temperature and typically can be consumed young, and rarely benefits from extensive aging.
