Opus One is a joint venture between the late Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. From the onset, Opus One was conceived as a Bordeaux-style blend based on premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, thereby merging French and American winemaking styles into a singular opus. After its debut in 1979, Opus One quickly rose to cult status, and to this day it remains one of the most profound and sought-after wines produced in the United States.

Comprised of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon with dollops of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec rounding out the blend, the 2015 Opus One Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend is truly an iron fist in a velvet glove, delivering a powerhouse of flavor and structure wrapped in a seductively plush texture. In the glass, the wine displays intense aromas of blackberry pie and cherry preserves interwoven with hints of violet, black tea, and sage. On the palate, the wine is bold and full-bodied with flavors of plum, blackberry, and blueberry followed by hints of vanilla and cocoa.
