Our Areaya California Chardonnay wine has aromas of watermelon, lemon, and almonds. Towards the end, some toasted bread aromas come forward from the fermentation process. This white wine has a smooth attack with a medium intensity, with more fruity flavors.
This medium-bodied California Chardonnay wine provides a long finish carried by this extra acidity, and pairs well with a wide range of dishes like crab cakes, scallops with citrus dressing or chicken salad.
California Chardonnay is nurtured in sun-kissed terroir, often caressed by cooler Pacific marine layer breezes, and bestow a unique brightness to the grapes. The soils, ranging from rocky coastlines to fertile valleys, impart distinct mineral undertones. This terroir creates a harmonious blend of rich fruit flavors, often with a hint of citrus or tropical notes. Oak aging adds complexity, bringing in subtle hints of vanilla, toast and is often referred to as buttery.
